And I say that as a diehard DFL caucus goer, voter, sicko, etc

Yeah, I *was* getting that vibe from the article but that may have been the Strib’s simplistic framing

I know there are many pro-choice Catholics; Melissa Hortman was one. I’d like to think that most of these folks are, but I’d be shocked if that were the case. Abortion rights supporters don’t repeatedly refer to themselves as “prolife.” But as you say, it doesn’t really matter.

Save the planet. Ask me your stupid questions instead of ai and give me $10. I'll get it right 20-40% of the time and I require very little water

Laundromats should hang up posters of Bebe with this quote the way movie theaters play that PSA from Melvin Van Peebles telling patrons to put their phones away and watch the film.

“You paid your bread; let’s watch the whole thing. Together. Don’t make me mad.”

Vance is having an incredible morning on the Sunday shows doing "oh so now it's illegal to [mundane thing]?"

A real quote when Vance is asked about whether Tom Homan kept the $50,000 he got in a fast food bag: "Is it illegal to take a payment for doing services?"

please stop selling good songs to bad commercials! we don't wanna see "take on me" in a medicine commercial or "I want you to want me" in a commercial about butter

It takes longer to taxi to the gate at ORD than it took to fly here from Cedar Rapids, this comment is only a slight exaggeration from the truth

Excellently threatening energy from Deborah Findlay’s entry to the Puffin Post’s Concrete Poetry Competition.
A superb, subtle, sarcastic little poetic diss to the moon
Detail from a page from puffin post magazine black text on white reads, Deborah finally 13, the moon above a black outline of a crescent moon inside which is a poem that reads “poor moon, will you really shine so well when men step upon you and break your spell” under which italicised text reads a black and white copy of a charming painting by Deborah Findlay

ohhhhhhhhhh! what balm!

Have you settled on a name yet? It took us a few days with Willie (we knew Lola’s name immediately because she was obviously a Lola, and Gerald came from the shelter with his perfect name.)

Minnesota and Texas are true rivals in terms of chauvinism. I’d love to know the percentage of each population with state-shaped tattoos etched into their bodies.

“If you’re pro-life you really need to be voting for gun reform,” says one very sincere parent

You really need to be thinking about what a nonsense term that is, actually

Strib article about Annunciation families coping with ongoing trauma of last month’s massacre finally spells out that these families are “pro-life” by which they mean anti-abortion by which they mean lacking perspective and compassion beyond what’s in front of them

“The whole situation has led to distrust and Facebook arguments.”

Oh, I can imagine.

Also: it costs an average of $22K a year to send an infant to daycare in Minnesota; the next nearest childcare center is 25 miles from Slayton.

Also too: UNIVERSAL CHILDCARE WHEN?

Incredible own-throat-slitting in Murray County, Minnesota, where a church evicted a Slayton child care center, and the county was set to approve a $750,000 loan … until Slayton’s commissioner changed her mind. She later declined to comment. www.startribune.com/minnesota-co...
This Minnesota county is on the verge of losing its only child care center
Officials in the town of Slayton worry about a lack of day care affecting the local workforce and economy. It’s a stark example of a crisis playing out across rural Minnesota.

Gonna tell my kids this was the Parthenon
The former Star Trubune building, now demolished, which in no way resembles the Parthenon

so I refined my search terms
Search two, AI results at head of search:

The phrase "minnesota star tribune parthenon centuries free of scaffolding" is the result of conflating two separate events that were both covered by the Star Tribune. It refers to the removal of scaffolding from the actual Parthenon in Greece and the 2016 removal of scaffolding from the Minnesota State Capitol building.

I was trying to find this story online because the print headline amused me ever so slightly, which is how I learned that Google (via AI) is out there informing people that the former Strib building looked like the Parthenon.
Headline: After two centuries, Parthenon is free of scaffolding
The Associated Press Google search, AI results (at head of search): Overview
The term "Star Tribune Parthenon" refers to the former Star Tribune headquarters in downtown Minneapolis, which featured a distinctive façade sometimes compared to the Parthenon in Athens. The newspaper moved out in 2015, and the building was demolished.
