Once inspired the NYT Science Times to "try harder,” and now I post about my cats from my perch in the Witch District of Minneapolis. she/her
Yeah, that sounds like a recipe for disaster! Territory protection + potentially defensive new pair. I am very hopeful that these guys will find a new home soon!

This recipe approximates the version I use (but sadly I’m out of gift links for the month)
Cornbread Stuffing Recipe

I can’t believe they haven’t fixed this yet. For one thing, they’d be smart to track the unique codes.

Oh, Gerald has rejiggered the whole household. A few months after he moved in we actually hired a cat behavior specialist to help us manage him because there was so much chaos. We wanted to keep him but we didn’t want our two resident cats to be miserable. He can be pretty inconsiderate.

Thankful to not be driving anywhere this Thanksgiving

This is gospel. I have strayed, but three cats is too many cats. Two is the right number.

I’d also add that two new cats = less stress for cats & humans alike, because they reassure each other during the freakout period of moving to a new environment

Also: I just realized I already made this argument. (Didn’t mean to badger you!)
Thank you SO much for sharing! And I’ll just add: two cats are ideal (if they like each other, which these do) because they will keep each other company when you’re out.
