Hey Chuck, I know the Baileys. They are solidly on board with abolishing ICE at this point. Eileen is driving her friend Luisa's mom to chemo and calls me up to say she's just aghast at how scared she is.

Dems deciding last year to put no effort into defeating Blakeman and taking back parts of Nassau county remains completely infuriating. He’s a transphobic offputting bigot who ran heavily on those issues
Republicans mightily struggling in New York in a new Siena poll.

Kathy Hochul leads GOP opponent Bruce Blakeman 54% to 28%. (She won by 6% in 2022.)

Democrats have a 56/29 lead in the generic congressional ballot. (Result was 57/43 in 2024).

Trump approval is 33/63. sri.siena.edu/2026/02/03/h...

Can someone get this information to @nassaudems.bsky.social? Republicans are deeply unpopular and you should stop acting like them.

Here we have a republican congressman from the greater NYC area getting yelled at by constituents for supporting ICE. (Deservedly so!)

Really would like to know who exactly told long island democrats their continued ICE support was a good idea.

At least lawler has town halls!
Detailed write-up.

Standout line about 5yo Liam Ramos:

‘In a response that elicited a great deal of anger, Lawler returned to a plea to “let investigations take place,” adding that Liam’s father “ran away from the child. ICE agents were protecting the child.”’

I attended another Mike Lawler Town Hall tonight. And once again he pivoted, gaslit, and refused to directly answer the questions he was asked. So he shamefully ejected two combat Veterans from his Town Hall. Disgusting and shameful.

If you embroider or cross-stitch & are interested in mutual aid, I think that I'm going to organize an event where folks can sell their work and donate a percentage of proceeds to a couple of local mutual aid groups. May 16 or 23. I need to find a location here in NYC. I'll circle back with details.

My fellow xennials, we need to talk about seceding from Gen X proper. They are dragging us down
Backing up The Argument in NYT/Siena, Gen X still has an astonishing 49% approval for Trump (!), while Boomers have dipped to 42%.

Gen X is currently tracking at 12 pts to the right of the electorate on the generic ballot. Now 9 pts to the right of Boomers, which has to be the largest gap ever.

The Dem Party in Long Island (maybe more generally New York) is fucked, mainly due to Jay Jacobs and his cronies. The house losses in 2022 in New York are probably responsible to a large extent for where we are now in this country. If a hostile takeover doesn’t happen, this year will be bad.

Please!

He is beatable. The party machine in Nassau county is not what it once was.
Suozzi is a failson who has lost more big democratic primaries than he’s won.

His district is liberal, cosmopolitan, and educated. Immigration is a core part of the civic history of the area.

Someone can primary this guy and win. If I was in a position to move back from CA, I would do it myself.
We should make their political lives miserable until they resign, retire, or end their terms.

As far as I know, Tom Suozzi here still does not have a primary challenger in his district (NY-3 on Long Island).

The filing deadline is April 6 for the primary on June 23, and if there's a remotely progressive town council member or PTA president in that district, this is the time to make a move.
Confronted Congressman Tom Suozzi, one of seven Democrats casting the decisive votes to increase ICE funding by $10,000,000,000.
