Let's hope they show up at a local No Kings rally in Missouri, or more next Saturday so that protesters can sign the referendum vote and also encourage other folks to do the same thing.

Since my last text above I’ve reached out to another 20-30 NJ friends, asking them if they have a plan to vote.

All but one indicated that they did have a plan to vote (yes, for Mikie Sherrill). Most intend to do so early in-person.

Keep checking in on your VA/NJ/CA/etc friends’ voting plans!

Voting early helps you b/c it stops all the targeted texts, knocks, mail, etc.

It helps us win b/c we can devote our resources to other yes voters who haven’t cast their ballot.

I completely agree. And I think the reason they are shocked is because they assumed that the party making demands always loses. But in past shutdowns the GOP demands were unpopular. Here, the Dems demands are very popular.

It turns out that the GOP lost the messaging battle in past shutdowns not because they demanded a certain policy, but because they demanded an *unpopular* policy.

Dems have the upper hand now because they've made it about the ACA which is - wait for it - popular!
