TikTok is now under US ownership and their new ToS reads like a guide to giving fascists everything they need to put you on a list.

They’re collecting information about immigration status, citizenship, sexual orientation, whether you’re trans or non binary and physical or mental disabilities.

The Labour right? Using minorities and their interests as nothing more than a means of advancing their own ends and nobbling factional enemies? I find that very hard to believe.
Amazing how they just say this stuff out loud now. I assume they understand people can see them saying it.

Every couple of weeks we get a different description of the apparently awful stench coming off our necrotic president and I think it's high time the media nail down exactly what kind of rotten meat covered in women's perfume he actually smells like.

#GVerse The Black Panthers have re-entered the chat!

The Panthers are a revolutionary socialist group that fed & protected the community.

They were such a threat to the dictatorship of capital they were falsely labeled “terrorists.” Their reemergence is necessary.

I noted this at the time, and glad it doesn't seem to have escaped others' notice. A lot of the statements around this were *very* carefully worded...
Last month, @robinince.bsky.social announced that the BBC pushed for his resignation after 16 years as host of the popular science show Infinite Monkey Cage, citing his support for trans people. This is esp fucked up bc his own co-host's wife is an anti-trans activist

i remember in the early 2000s when JK Rowling did a BBC Online chat and insisted on doing her own typing. No celeb did this. She insisted the typist booked for the session sat & ate the fancy sandwiches laid on for her. The story of this humility and kindness was legendary.
Anyway, that was then 🤷
JK Rowling used to be a beloved progressive figure whose work was used by a large bulk of a generation to express their feelings about fascism

Queued for a buffet with Jason Orange.
Silently stood outside a theatre next to Wallace Shawn for a bit, nodded a polite hello to each other.
Entered a service station urinal at the same time Morrisey was leaving it.
