When SNAP payments were suspended earlier this month I was surprised at who expressed not just political concern but personal worry at the payments, and made an FB post appealing for direct submissions of reprints (slush-reading is slow) and bought nine stories in three days.

For the [ast few years I've been editing the short fiction for Star Ship Sofa, a venerable SF (not F/H) podcast. It's a small joint, and I've turned it primarily into a reprint market as we can afford only $50 per story.

i wonder how much of Americans' views on driving vs. transit would change if they had to pay for gas/insurance/etc every time they turned on the engine
