yesterday my dad asked where my mum had moved the kitchen stash of scrap paper we use to scribble notes and lists on, and she held eye contact with him as she reached over to point at a place one inch to the left of where they'd been previously where the pile was a) more stable and b) more obvious
the female astronaut that we'ee sending to the moon had to warn her husband that he won't just be able to call her to ask where something is in the house 💀💀💀💀

This makes no sense…

An MP can wake up one morning, ditch the party you elected them for, & sign up to a completely different manifesto…

No thanks

If they defect to a different party, we should get a vote

Sign the petition & help make that law.

That reminds me: It's Tom Baker's birthday in two days so no need to panic if you see his name trending on Tuesday.

That was a public service announcement for geeks everywhere.
I keep the birthdays of old Doctor Who actors memorised so I don't panic if I see them trend on that day.

Always be the person who causes a fellow white person/cis person/het presenting person/bloke/etc etc to go "oh! ...er, well nevertheless" when they thought they'd be safe doing bigotry around you - that you'd agree & join in - and you in fact pushed back, showed them you're not in their gang.
A big part of the current right wing belief system is that everyone is actually just as bigoted as they are, and are only pretending not to be as a public performance ("virtue signalling").

They genuinely thought once they started doing open racism, everyone would join in

I think one of the simplest ways you can express support for Denmark is by buying a Lego set. At least that's what I think, and why I'm browsing the Lego online store right now.

A dark but beautiful story about hope and the power of community

Anarchy and entropy are easy

Building a world you want to live in is much much harder but way more worth it

Give it a read over your coffee break

STOP.

We have a major news story in our house. It's been building up for a few days and this afternoon came the denouement.

It's the story of a banana.

This is your reminder that Hungarian-Jewish scientist George de Hevesy dissolved two Nobel Prizes in aqua regia to keep them out of the hands of the Nazis.

He then left the dissolved solution on his shelf and fled to Sweden.

(After the war he un-dissolved the gold and the prizes were re-cast.)
