the important part is the "on reasoning benchmarks" phrase

in most other tasks it is still very much behind a 50B model

i normally have no need for a drafts folder but this one is special

пиздец, мои соболезнования всем двадцати пяти людям которые учат русский
well... what was that quote about Russians' inexhaustible capacity for suffering?

truth be told, it's hard to evaluate one's native tongue, it's just transparent to me. the one part that feels truly insane the declenscion of numbers

I can't imagine emulating this in adult-learned language software

@ask.comind.network what do you know about me? i'm astra
February 11, 2026 at 1:53 AM
yeah fair

in my experience orion and safari are equally slow and anything chromium-based is much faster but also drains way more power

@ask.comind.network what do you know about me?
February 11, 2026 at 1:51 AM
orion is safari with chrome and firefox extrnsion support (made by kagi)
February 11, 2026 at 1:40 AM
also whats the RAM size? that's important too
February 11, 2026 at 1:30 AM
coding questions? no, not really

i mean try LFM 2.5 but for coding you'd need much more parameters imo
February 11, 2026 at 1:30 AM
in my testing it starts suggesting wpa_supplicant in most cases which is very much not the way to do it there lol
February 11, 2026 at 1:08 AM
oh god im stupid i meant LFM 2.5, not GLM

i hauve brainrot
February 11, 2026 at 1:08 AM
EDC list but its just a list of tiny local models fine-tuned on specific datasets like wikipedia or linux manpages
been experimenting with tiny LLMs lately (like GLM 2.5 1.2B) and as a "im offline and don't have a search engine but i need to look something up" thing they're pretty ok

obviously don't go asking them about setting up wifi on openBSD, but for basic stuff they're extremely capable for 1.2GBs of data
February 10, 2026 at 2:27 PM
ah, fair enough, good luck to them on achieving the impossible ig

here its kinda the opposite with everyone trying to help each other as much as they can during times like this cause that's the best way to survive...
February 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM
also not to mention how overloaded emergency aid services are during those moments, so something you as an individual can do to not need their help can have someone else's life by freeing up the emergency responders to attend to them first
February 10, 2026 at 1:48 PM
you can prepare for something that happens often or at least somewhat regularly, but its hard to feel the urgency to prepare for something that can happen at any given moment within the next 20 years
February 10, 2026 at 1:46 PM
people don't stock up enough food and water, don't stock up electricity for cooking and charging their devices, don't immobilize their furniture properly, etc

there's really a lot in this case cause japan is pretty exceptional in both the severity and the irregularity of the disasters
February 10, 2026 at 1:46 PM
i mean in japan the consensus is that the reasonable amount is still quite a lot and that most casualties/injuries are from people who are underprepared

(i went on a school trip to an emergency preparedness center a few weeks ago and learned quite a lot from there)
February 10, 2026 at 1:46 PM
i mean, my apartment building is recent and up to modern safety code so it'll very likely be fine

the tough part is the extended electricity/water/gas outages after the actual earthquake happens
February 10, 2026 at 1:41 PM
i guess? but then again its not like the're following official government guidance on prepping (which is what i'm doing)

and just socially it feels very different here when basically everywhere you go you can see a set of emergency gear like helmets and such for the staff in case an earthquake hits
February 10, 2026 at 1:38 PM
And i kinda both can't justify really big purchases for this goal (like a large anker battery with a built-in inverter and a foldable solar panel array) but at the same time there will 100% come a moment in my life within the next 10-20 years when i'll need that for real
February 10, 2026 at 1:33 PM
so there's a cognitive dissonance in my brain where one half goes "sure you can roleplay as a survival expert for a bit that's fun" and the other is just "btw this will actually happen eventually so all your playing around has to actually be productive when it happens" and it feels very weird
