The place AI (or rather, Machine Learning) is useful is in STEM stuff. Analysing datasets, finding patterns, picking out directions not yet spotted. Key here is that the output is validated and checked, not just accepted unquestioningly, like generative AI.

Can't we use AI to cure malaria or sleeping sickness? Do tech bros realise how beloved they would be if they did that?

I think it's comical AI is being used to sell us fizzy pop and chicken nuggets 🤣Brave New World 🤣

I'm sorry but people actually think coming up with a prompt demonstrates the same amount of skill as being able to draw, paint, compose or write a book? Is it crack??

Once I stayed up all night drawing actual illustrations for a spot that ran nationally on short notice and I would like to tell the people who “hardly slept” because they were “writing prompts” that they are soft pathetic babies who can go to baby hell.

A good point people are bringing up — if they need to pretend that making this commercial was hard work to avoid getting yelled at, they are also undercutting the propaganda that A.I. will give you a ton more free time. Which fake story are you sticking to. bsky.app/profile/cult...

In case you didn’t know:

When you cook mushrooms, slice them up and cook them in a dry pan. No oil. Leave them on medium heat and let them sweat out all their water. You’re not ready to add oil or other ingredients until the mushrooms are no longer leaching water, and browning at the edges.

If many of us are quiet about politics online nowadays, it isn't that we don't care and we're not mobilized offline.

We talked about this for years. We warned them. So many who are upset now did not listen! They thought they knew better than we did.

So much of this suffering was preventable.
