These issues themselves are fine but the refusal to place immigration and the secret police terrorizing our families alongside those issues presumably means that a bunch of leadership are white supremacists and I am fairly comfortable jumping to that conclusion at this point.

Thanks. We have folks in our community giving vulnerable students rides to school, and a teacher shared that they were putting small stuffed animals on their dashboards to help kids identify safe cars. ICE picked up on it and started doing the same. Horrifying.

a skill I've sharpened the last few years is to avoid the urge to explain why some political takes are better according to some principle and to instead just declare that I want something, I'm not settling, and any other explanation is beside the point of me just wanting it
yes—and also, it is not everyone's job to act like a politician! if you're not a politician, it's actually not your job at all. so if you think ice should be abolished, don't give up on saying it. politicians will never be brave unless they're scared of the rest of us.
there's more than enough people saying "prosecute and hold ICE accountable" and "reform and better train ICE" to reach the people who are thought to be reachable with incremental change, so I feel like it's time and energy well-spent, personally, to hold the line with "abolish ICE"
