My electrician is a green card holder who's been here since he was a kid. He got married to a citizen, applied for citizenship, went to court for the papers and when he got there ICE kidnapped him and he's been locked up for a month.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.

In short, I wish it was easier to create opportunities for the sake of the greater good. For science education and for bringing art into that process. I'm grateful as hell that I can put together the projects I'm able to get off the ground, and exhausted by the immensity of our collective problems.
