+2°C by July 2034…

It feels like we should be addressing this rate of warming as an emergency…

#ActNow

#Now
Even during a La Niña, the rate is still accelerating (third-order derivative).

See the updated nonlinear 30-year trend extrapolation bringing +2°C even closer.

As Risk = Likelihood x Impact, this is a BFD (Big F*cking Deal).

Most experts stick to playing with straight rulers however. 🤷‍♂️

At least it’s only 400,000 square kilometres less than the previous record…

Maybe it will just get better if we don’t do anything…
Arctic sea-ice extent on November 30th was about 400,000 square kilometers below the previous record low for the date, set in 2016.

Huge news from the UK today: after UN climate talks in which there was a massive fight over language on fossil fuels, the UK government today announced that it will in fact be keeping many millions of barrels of oil & gas in the ground. Deeds rather than just words for a change! 🧵

It was inspiring to join the protest against Rosebank in Worthing on Saturday. Labour must stop Rosebank. All oil must stay in the ground.

In Sussex we can elect a Green Mayor who will stand up for the environment, let's make it happen. 💚
