My kid just caught me dancing to Primus & ran away from me out of embarrassment as she described my style as:

"Kangaroo break dancing plus irish jig."

And, yes, she is 100 percent correct.

It's painful, the pity I feel when I hear a perfectly intelligent, moral guy saying perfectly intelligent, moral things in a forced deep voice. It's clearly become an unconscious habit, and all I can think is, "Oof, what did they do to you?"

It also makes my throat hurt vicariously.
My theory is that something like 30% of all men use a fake deep voice almost all the time. So many guys talk and I instantly think “Not your real voice. Now your coward’s soul is bare to me”
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

My teenage son texted my husband and I “love you” from school last week and we both immediately panicked thinking there was a school shooting. Our country is so fucked up. He was fine, just a sweet kid who forgot to say it when he left for school. 😢

TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

I can relate to being inspired by practices that have survived from antiquity but "I like this theology because in my interpretation, it elevates me above those I consider my lessers" is generally about ideology rather than faith

The amazing thing about this is that in the past Fox has led multi-day freakouts over people offering tips like this. Specifically, I remember them losing their minds over a HuffPost blog about reducing travel during Thanksgiving.
Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

Capitalism is incredible. Sorry, former teacher, your retirement fund is gone because 5 guys who've collectively never worked a full hour told the banks to put all the money in the country into virtual girlfriend futures
