This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

Israel is allowing some "airdrops" of food in Gaza. This is like putting a violin group at the railway station to the death camp. All show.
Meanwhile the slow mass murder continues. When will the west actually denounce Israel, impose sanctions and support the indictment of these war criminals?

I cannot get over how no one in mainstream politics even disputes factual claims like this. Everyone admits that Israel is starving children and murdering desperate civilians. The only ‘debate’ is about what to call it and whether the motives of people protesting it are pure enough.

I have seen so many liberals turn the corner on Gaza now and honestly fuck those people, live with your discomfort forever.
Last week NYT Opinion shifted to suddenly run a bunch of "Gosh, this stuff in Gaza seems really bad, have you seen how bad this is?" content and political elites are absolutely taking cues from their preferred media elites. It was a bat signal: "Time to start salvaging your reputation on this one."

And you know what the talking heads seem to rarely use 'violent' to describe? The systemic destruction of families through ICE detentions and deportations. Breaking a window is framed *primarily* as violence, but taking a grandparent away from their kids or sending someone to a work camp isn't.

This last week is a real demonstration of how capacious, yet flattened the word "violent" is in our political discourse. Political assassinations are obviously, clearly violent. But the same word has been used all week to describe protestors damaging objects--not people, objects.
