Floodwaters cut off the town of Las Palomas in Córdoba, Colombia, leaving the community temporarily isolated. Neighbors quickly organized a small community kitchen to support one another. As soon as it was safe, WCK brought ingredients & kitchen supplies to help them keep cooking. #ChefsForColombia

Colombia Update 🇨🇴
WCK Chef Corps member Harry Sasson is in Montería’s El Dorado neighborhood, where severe flooding has left families surrounded by water for days. Many people here have lost nearly everything. We’re on the ground supporting the community with hot meals every day. #ChefsForColombia

Lialia is a Kyiv resident, professional chef, and WCK volunteer. Like many of her neighbors, she has lost access to hot water after Russian attacks damaged infrastructure. Still, her passion for cooking and commitment to supporting her community brought her to the WCK team.

WCK is en route to Madagascar, where Tropical Cyclone Gezani has struck the island and left a wake of destruction. WCK is working with local partners to ensure families and first responders have access to meals.

WCK’s #ChefsForGaza teams reached the milestone of 1 million hot meals daily yesterday, but our work doesn’t stop there. We’re doing everything we can to reach as many communities as possible with warm meals. Yesterday, that looked like delivering meals on donkey-drawn carts in displacement camps.

WCK’s 1 million meals a day milestone does not mean our work in Gaza will stop. Hunger remains widespread, even as conditions have improved compared to earlier months. 1 million meals a day meets an urgent demand, but it doesn’t eliminate it. (1/2)

Before Storm Leonardo hit southern Spain last week, WCK teams pre-positioned in Córdoba and Málaga to respond quickly and support impacted communities. Working alongside local partners, we delivered hot meals, sandwiches, fruit, and water to affected families & first responders in the region. (1/2)

Residents of El Volador had to abandon their homes in the middle of the night when the flooding hit, and they were finally able to return after nearly a week. They quickly organized a community kitchen, so WCK is supporting them with supplies so they can cook for their neighbors. #ChefsForColombia
