Also make sure that you unplug space heaters when not in use, they can continue drawing power and potentially overheat even when turned off

This is the key thing that white commenters keep refusing to understand or at least acknowledge: "can we just team up until the fascism is over" isn't cool to say when half the people saying it don't mean the part where YOU are in constant danger, just the part where THEY are in danger.
