It's fine to think Congresswoman Crockett isn't the strongest Democratic candidate to win the Texas Senate race, and I agree. But when the focal points of your criticism are her eyelashes and nails and her general appearance, it feels like you may need to chat with a therapist.

Say what you will about the rumored imminent firing of Kristi Noem, but she's had an unexpectedly long run. I would have guessed she'd be in the job for fewer months than the number of dogs she's killed.

Hi! You don’t want to watch someone violently die in front of you. It will never leave you. It will change you.

Their death will play on a loop on the back of your eyelids until your last breath.

Babe, this just means I get to see Ohio State lose again. 😂
Glad our 13-10 loss heading into the playoffs has brought you all together. Surely there's no precedence for Buckeye redemption in that specific scenario. 🤣🤣🤣
It's fun when Ohio State loses. Really brings the whole national community of college football fans together.

This guy is awarding himself a fake "peace" prize coerced through quid pro quo with a global sports body, and most of legacy media just shrugs in response and doesn't call into question his mental health. What are we doing here?

In fairness, AutoZone employees are great actors. They’ve always been kind and pretended I’m not a complete doofus when I ask very basic questions about cars.
A "FIFA Peace Prize" is tantamount to getting an "AutoZone Best Actor in a Dramatic Play" award.

And "I want to really save lives" is rich coming from the homicidal slob who is murdering people on fishing boats in the Caribbean.

Quite proud of the biography section that Judith & I have built up. New books are added nearly every day. Some rare stuff here, and some obscure but cool stuff. Mainly arts & entertainment related, with a few wildcards. mzs.press/Biographies-...

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.

The GED is a pathway to a brighter future, and we're making sure more Kentuckians have access. Since 2020, we've:
✅Waived testing fees
✅Increased testing sites from 114 to 171
✅Taken testing on the road for counties without access

The result? An 81% increase in test-takers.

I'm personally 100% in for James Talarico, but I can't help but shake my head at the sad folks who are downplaying Rep. Jasmine Crockett's chances. She's brilliant, a great communicator, and has wide support among the Dem base in Texas. Underestimate at her at your own peril.

I don't know how any reasonable adult in politics and media looks at the clear, irrefutable evidence that's come to light in the past week and doesn't immediately conclude that Pete Hegseth has almost certainly overseen and tacitly condoned war crimes.

Hi! It's a bleak time for news, especially LGBTQ+ news. As a reporter, I'm able to cover the issues impacting LGBTQ+ people full-time because I work at The 19th.

With just $5 or $10, you can help keep us going. Donate here and support independent media — and a newsroom that actually puts you first.

I've always looked at longterm committed relationships between two writers as interesting and fun and quite romantic. Until recently, I had genuinely never considered the scenario in which it's possible for two bad writers to be in such a relationship. Now, I shudder.

Even before today, Sabrina Carpenter had begun entering that rarified space in which a celebrity is so easily reliable to speak out against bullshit that it never crosses your mind to wonder if they'll do the obvious right thing. I don't think anyone is the least bit surprised by this.

I have no proof to back it up, but I think it's more than likely that Sen. Gallego had those texts "leaked" to position himself as the Democratic Party's leading "anti-woke" moderate. It feels calculated. What incentive would the GOP friend who "leaked" them have in doing it?
