FWIW.

Te Huia stops at Pukekohe, Puhinui and The Strand in Auckland as well.
Kirikiriroa/ Hamilton folks. It would be great to have a strong show of support for Te Huia this Sunday 2pm at Hamilton Frankton Station. A key decision is coming up in a couple of weeks on extending the trial by another year and your support could help get this across the line.

Why do we sing 'better be home soon' so enthusiastically as a country when it sounds like a domestic abuse song.. oh wait I guess that's perfect for nz 🙃

National squandered $6B for climate resilience projects, using it to top up tax cuts for their mates, and now local councils are footing the bill instead 👇🏼

Baby shampoo mixed with water recommended as optimal treatment for pepper spray by an ophthalmologist, which speaking as a maker of soap & “personal care products” makes total sense. Milk products not recommended primarily due to risk of infection. Plain water is fine & much better than nothing!
The guy who makes funny doctor videos (who actually is an ophthalmologist) just made a couple on pepper spray generally and with contacts. We live in weird times.

“Over the past ten years New Zealand has averaged 55.9 days annually under a State of Emergency each year, and 66.6 days over the last five. In the 10 years prior to this, New Zealand averaged only 13.4 days per year.”

Quick Q - how does recovery work with a rates cap in place and no govt. support🤔

We cannot support others, or ourselves, in a hypoaroused freeze state. Emotional regulation practices and finding moments of peace, connection, aren't frivolous nice-to-haves, they are what keep us going.

The more of us who remain regulated and energised to support each other, the stronger we are.

With the video of ICE murdering Alex Pretti circulating, and constant updates that don't actually provide any information, it's useful to remember: Look But Don't Stare

Being informed and aware is important. Being traumatised by footage of a murder isn't. It is okay to not absorb everything.

update the thing that's most confusing is "during a flight, cabin crew would take young passengers up to the front of the plane to meet the pilots and look out the front window"
"post something from your childhood that would confuse later generations"

if you get enough millennials in a room together, eventually the conversation turns to "the sounds of a 56k modem"

and yeah that's honestly very confusing for anyone too young to remember when computers thought out loud

or if u don't have the money to spend on books, request them at ur local library that helps authors as well 💚
One thing you can do today is buy a friend's book. Who cares if you even read it. Just buy to support art. Fascists hate poetry and short stories and books about joy and memoirs about compassion etc.

Let's go.

Decided to re-watch Foyle's War. It pretends to be a detective show but it's actually a 'sit in discomfort about things that were done in the name of war' show. Highly recommend, especially with everything that's going on 🙃

In 2026, I want one thing – a kidney donated from a living donor for my partner. I've lost sleep over whether I should post this – it's a massive ask. Sometimes I wonder if it's asking too much? But the reality is that I'm unable to donate my kidney, and he has zero family who are in the position
