i use the characters #, \, |, `, ~ several hundreds of times a day, and I use £ or § or ± maybe once a month, so everything is several times more frustrating
the keys `~ and \| and 'return' are all in different places too

it's a small thing but i've gotten a work laptop with the absolute garbage UK key layout, and not the US (all the keyboard shortcuts work) layout
i am absolutely going to try and get it fixed, UK keyboard layouts are banned under the geneva convention for cruel and unusual punishment
