To this point and especially in the context of esoteric Buddhism: any teacher who harms their students has shattered their samaya. It cannot be repaired. This is simply a fact and not some spiritual conceit.
There seems to be a belief that dealing with these issues would require broad brush strokes that would censor and water down the dharma. If you don’t remover the roots of perversion of the dharma in your own house, it will spread, and it absolutely has.
