Update: We found the guy. Luckily the injured horseback rider took a picture and it's a pretty distinctive bike. He's not a local to our area, which is not surprising to me, as every group here preaches the importance of trail etiquette.

I'm so pissed right now. A mountain biker in my area spooked a horse, causing the rider to get thrown and injured and the horse needed to be put down. And he just rode off. Who the fuck does that?

Something else that is very unique about the US educational system compared to say France is that you can start over at any time.

this is why i prefer to do those turkey bowling balls instead of a whole bird
I think this is unfair to turkey. turkey is good but hard to cook well because it is so damn big. turkey *parts* are great but lack the esthetic appeal of a centerpiece bird.
it is tired to the point of cliche to say if turkey was good, people would make it more than once a year. but it is understated that at least one American explodes every Thanksgiving in a brave attempt to make the main dish more palatable
