The 2006 reauthorization of the VRA passed 390-33 in the House and 98-0 in the Senate when both were controlled by Rs. GWB signed it. Conservatives have never full-throatedly supported racial and gender inclusion - that's why they're conservatives! - but there has undeniably been a change.

Your analysis falls flat because you have to assume your conclusion in order to make the argument.

If, like others, you saw value in more than a direct confrontation in absurdity protests,

then you would see more value in inspiring more absurdity protests.
