Yesterday I learnt of the album Cleo Laine Sings Sondheim (1987), which would be enough to keep me occupied for at least a week by itself. Turns out it also has arrangements by my favourite orchestrator, Jonathan Tunick, and there’s a making-of documentary. So I’ll probably be here for a while.

Fun fact: at the time, KJ very kindly sent me Book 3 a day early – I was scheduled for induction of labour on the actual release date but I was desperate to find out how the trilogy ended.

I had to scan a bunch of hard-copy photos with my phone today and Genius Scan, which I have on the 1-week free trial, was actually pretty good. In particular, colour fidelity was better than the other apps I‘ve tested recently. PDF export easy, but JPG export a bit fiddly in bulk.

Does anyone have recs for Android document scanning apps?

I was using the full version of Adobe Scan but cancelled my Adobe subscription earlier this year in protest (AI in everything + big price hike). CamScanner used to be great but it's $$$ now that it's on a subscription model.
