(I don't actually give two shits about celebrating "the real meaning" of Thanksgiving--or any other holiday, for that matter. I just like having a day off and an excuse to cook a big meal.)

Made homemade butter (and buttermilk, I guess) and then turned that into a lemon herb compound butter for the bird tomorrow.
(Will probably use the buttermilk for pancakes this weekend.)

When the cats are especially vocal about wanting dinner, a thing I like to do is carry their bowls around the house for a few minutes, pretending that I can't remember where I'm supposed to put them down. It doesn't make them any quieter, mind you, but it is funny to watch them get so flustered.

I can buy Gomez every cat toy in the pet store and he'll ignore every single one of them. But he gets his paws on an old vacuum cleaner belt that I'm replacing? He'll play with that thing for HOURS.
