While it is tempting to look for patterns, I think the capriciousness and arbitrariness are the point. That's what signals the absolute power of the monarch: he's not beholden to anything, hence anyone is entirely at his mercy.

It also means that a president can rewrite a constitutional amendment via executive order, which is its own can of worms.
without birthright citizenship in the united states, you don't have a democracy and you don't have rule of law.

revoking birthright citizenship gives fascists free rein to purge the country of literally anyone they don't like. it opens the door to atrocities and mass murder. i am not exaggerating.

Fully endorse. some will say injuring birthright citizenship or revoking it for future generations won‘t work like that. The response is that we have the camps already and the Feds have billions devoted to policing. SCOTUS would be blessing this overtly

Ordering no quarter, as Hegseth effectively did, isn't a newfangled modern war crime. It was understood as a crime as far back as the Revolutionary War. Washington threatened to do reprisals over it. The bad guy in 'The Patriot' is (very loosely) based off a British officer who was notorious for it.

I can only think of one person for whom this is true and it’s Stephen Miller, who for some reason will not rest till the US reproduces the violent xenophobia that made his and my ancestors flee eastern Europe. The rest of his family seems normal, though
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Yeah, at this point it's really obvious that most of the core US media elite (1) doesn't think this is that bad and (2) is really stoked as to how much content Nuzzi is generating and that's *really* damning.

Increasingly convinced the only solution is not making data.
In October, statewide news reported that a sheriff's deputy in Texas searched thousands of Flock cameras in Washington for 'Had an abortion, search for female.’ New documents obtained by RANGE show Spokane County Sheriff's Office cameras were accessed in that search:
Texas deputy searched Spokane County Flock cameras for a woman who had an abortion– RANGE Media
Amidst nationwide and state scrutiny of the cameras, Spokane County’s Flock network was used by an out-of-state cop looking for a woman who had an abortion.

I’d agree except to say that the median pie is good but the order is still:

Cobbler/crumble/crisp with ice cream > cheesecake with a classic pie ingredient as a swirl/compote/coulis/flavor > pie or plain cheesecake

Cake can be ranked anywhere depending on the specific cake
The dirty secret of pies is that they have the lowest ceiling potential of all sweets. Your best pie is merely fine. Your median pie is bad.

I’m thinking that US voters being “furious about prices” when Trump’s fascist regime are attacking democracy, human rights, the environment & climate, public health, the global economy, the sovereignty of nations, a sane world order, and more, may be why the world will never trust U.S. voters again.
Americans are upset about prices & things are completely unraveling for Trump.
Americans were upset about prices under Biden & his poll numbers were like Trump's are now.
Americans were upset about prices when @kamalaharris.com ran & she nearly won. Says a lot about her strength as a candidate.

For those noting that this will drive up tuition, please understand this is deliberate. This administration wants degrees limited to the aristocracy. This is also behind the attacks on student aid.

Do political science profs have to explain to their students that, for most of American history, it was actually borderline unthinkable that elected officials and their spokespersons would constantly talk like trashy reality show contestants?
After calling Schumer a "Palestinian," Leavitt refers to "Gavin Newscum." So she's just ripping off her boss's smears now.

"Cis women having male levels of testosterone" is another big giveaway about what this is. What is a "male" level of testosterone and how can a cis female have it naturally occurring in their cis female body if its specific to men? Is there a male level of height?
Its telling where the IOC will let claims of scientific rationality be applied as a cover for their bigotry and where it wont. I'm assuming they wont be barring athletes for having the advantage of being too tall or too much lung capacity?
