I have a barely used Instagram account and Facebook keeps trying to tempt me into using Threads with the most deranged, reactionary shit possible.

That’ll be a no from me, dog.

New blog post time!

This week's game is Midnight Mutants, the Atari 7800 swan song with everyone's favorite vampiric Grandpa. It's well worth recognizing its impressive ambition relative to other games on the 7800 and it's also the closest thing to Fester's Quest on there, so take that as you will!
Midnight Mutants
Midnight Mutants is ultimately a game that’s mostly about friction, so if you’re one of those people who likes to brag about how much they enjoy friction on social media, your time has come! Said f…

I definitely blocked the one (accurately named) inane person. Just a deeply dull individual.

Write and direct The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, starring a cast of unknowns and a barely recognizable Eric Roberts

lets say a wizard has cursed you with a lot of money. you are going to become permanently brain damaged simply by being in possession of so much money. the only way out of it is to spend a lot of money on something ridiculous and not at all useful

what would you buy to break the curse?

This is perhaps the most under viewed Unreal Engine video. If you use UMG in Unreal you should really give it a view, Adrienne killed it with this! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NHI...

1. Using humor & mockery to punch holes in fear-based authoritarian power grabs is a tried & true method

2. 1 point of such display is inspiring folks to see they're not alone in anger at this regime; that most folks agree w/them; & to fuel action

3. It's not aimed at DJT

It's building a movement

If only the Germans had dressed in animal costumes in the 1920's and 30's, Hitler would have been stopped in his tracks. I'm all for humour and satire but it's going to take more than some funny costumes.

Oh no, this is awful. Absolute genius artist.

Saw him live many years back and it was so good.

One of the nicest famous people I've ever met (during the making of C&C : Red Alert 3). Just a lovely human being.

Heartbroken that, per his social media accounts, Drew Struzan has left us. His poster and album art was quite simply shorthand for imagination for countless young people.
E.T. Adventure poster, 1990. I still have one of these hanging in my childhood bedroom. Star Wars Special edition triptych, 1997. I remember seeing all of these in the paper as each film was re-released and just felt a burst of energy those mornings. Hook poster, 1991 Back to the Future poster, 1985

I hope so, especially as consoles are increasingly "luxury product" priced. I'm on a 4 year old Phone at this point because I just can't convince myself to spend the money to upgrade.

It's been nice to see PS4 support continuing deep into the PS5 era.

RIP, very sad to hear about his passing. Drew Struzan's work was so key to my inner world as a child, just a genius artist who understood the balance of realism and the magic of cinema.

...but I'd love to see this current gen really flex a bit before the next round comes out.

I have a PS5 Pro, it's a really strong machine and I honestly don't feel a need to upgrade any time soon.

The PS6 talk is the first time in several console generations where I genuinely think that the current gen hasn't really had a chance to stretch yet.

Some of that is long lead times, some is Covid hangover, some is a change in focus - the Sony live service game initiative is a good example.

The shoot out in the penultimate episode of Task - for that matter, the entire episode - is some excellent, emotionally grounded and masterfully directed filmmaking.
