By the way, note that the description of Biden as being "in obvious mental decline" was left in the speech, while the description of Trump as the "most openly corrupt president in American history" was removed:
Note that the BBC openly admits in an email to me that the removal of this claim about Trump's world-historical corruption was done "on legal advice."

Translation: Trump's threat of a lawsuit, no matter how bogus, has now been rewarded.

A councilmember who won his primary last year with 23.7% of the vote wants to delay implementing ranked choice voting. The at-large CM who won her last primary with 35.9% agrees that making her run for reelection next year under RCV would be a bad idea.
Felder continues to be critical of the election board's capacity to pull off ranked-choice voting in 2026.

"Before we roll out something of this magnitude I would think we need to do a needs assessment," he says to Evans. "You’ve been tasked with an arduous task. It’s unfair."

Uber and Lyft only added more cars to our streets

DoorDash and Ubereats added even more

Waymo will just do the same while human labor continues to fight for the the dwindling scraps of money

“When the system starts to crack, we’ll have to be ready to give it all back”
Minneapolis and Minnesota need to regulate robotaxis, now.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

This might be really helpful for many folks out there.

Remember, when it comes to riding bikes for transportation in the winter, “there’s no bad weather, just bad clothes.”

(And bad infrastructure and maintenance decisions from city hall)
Hey winter cyclists: the smartest thing I've done after threatening to do it for too many years was actually write down what to wear based on temperature. This helped immensely last year, and winter is coming 🥶

If you missed the previous meetings in your Ward, you can go to ANY of these events! The more people from #bikeDC who show up - literally show up - to these events, the better.

We really are stronger together. The bicycle planners at DDOT know this, but more people showing up will get results!

Utterly ludicrous framing from @nytimes.com here, treating Pete Hegseth's arguments as if they're legitimate. The casual reader will be left with no inkling whatsoever of how unusual and corrupt an abuse of the process this truly is:

This is exactly how I see the @nytimes.com’s Carville op-ed piece.

Carville has been irrelevant to the @democrats.org since 2000 - full stop. The reason we have MAGAts is because he tacked the party so far to the center-right that the GOP could court only the fringe of the right wing.

Eff him.
Ah, I see someone has exhumed the desiccated revenant named Carville, and used a hand bellows to force air into its lungs, so as to allow it to wheeze out miasmic utterances before being lowered once more into its crypt

To any DC Councilmember who thinks the voters "aren't ready" for ranked-choice voting: stop selling us as stupid.

Y'all are just afraid to lose your fiefdoms. Don't slow-roll.

If you do: we will come after you in the next election cycle and you will, to a person, lose.

#DCPOL
Interesting: In testimony to the D.C. Council about implementing ranked-choice voting next year, elections board director Monica Evans says reporting results will take longer, up to 10 days after the election. That's because all mail ballots need to be received before counting.
