If you've never been to the brewery before, you may not know it's a bit of a museum. August Schell purchased this kettle in 1889 for $25000. Five years earlier he spent $5000 on his retirement home. Priorities, right?

Tell me you haven’t actually *read* The Great Gatsby without telling me you haven’t actually read it…
Trump is holding a Great Gatsby/Roaring 20s-themed party at his private club in Palm Beach tonight as he tries to withhold SNAP and health care subsidies from millions of Americans. (via Kellie Meyer)
The latter surely isn't the cause of the numbers being down
Cyclists FTW.
A French cyclist survived for three days after a horrendous 130-foot fall into a ravine, kept alive by the bottles of red wine he had in his shopping bag, police said.

My latest for The New York Times on the great Warren Zevon, in the wake of a lavish tribute concert dedicated to him in Los Angeles and ahead of his induction to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame next week. Gift link here: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/27/a...
Dammit, now I want an U bier
You need this. Jordan proving once again she knows what the hell she's doing
How does comic sans fit into this caper?
If I had to guess, probably not. I think I've seen less gluten than wheat, but that's not saying a lot. There are ways to reduce gluten in beer, but I'm always concerned if it's enough for every person that may pick up your beer. It probably isn't
Brew Day! Ann mashing in, Andy graining out (always make the tallest guy grain out on the little system-makes them look gigantic), and Kathy adding some hops.

Happy Birthday to The Absinthe Forger’s lovely NYT book review by J. D. Biersdorfer, titled “Seeing Green,” which came out 1 year ago today.
“A lively standalone seminar on temptation — as well as the culture and history of the much-maligned liquor and its reputation for causing madness and murder.”
