It's been 38 years and I only found out last night that apparently ALL of the 60's-70's Rankin Bass stop motion specials were animated in Japan.

A substantial part of Japanese animation in the west pre-Anime blowing up was American companies outsourcing, much of what we consider the golden era of 80s-90s cartoons was done by companies like TMS and Toei. The Little Drummer Boy and Rudolph are no different. It was Anime all along.

Once I stayed up all night drawing actual illustrations for a spot that ran nationally on short notice and I would like to tell the people who “hardly slept” because they were “writing prompts” that they are soft pathetic babies who can go to baby hell.

i think the accessibility features on bluesky are great but because i don't use the platform often, i always forget they're there. whenever i post my art, i post the same thing on all my socials at the same time, so it's a lot of copypasting.

Every facet of generative AI has made my professional life worse, without question, but THIS specific aspect has been driving me NUTS.
Clients, who have made me toil for weeks over indescribably small details, are now approving & producing in-house commercial artwork that looks like a fever dream.

I feel the clients now using GenAI to do stuff and going "good enough" when they used to nitpick at every last detail is due to them finding out all those nit picky changes take time and work they cant be bothered to put in.
