New reason to film horizontally: all the shit we're seeing.
It's about making sure you catch everything around the thing happening. Action happens horizontally, because we're on the ground. Horizontal filming gives you more time to turn the camera and still keep stuff in frame if something happens.

Finally started reading the Moomin books as an adult and they're wonderful. I think the key factor to why they're so great is that they're just *nice*.
There isn't a constant "ticking clock", it's just peaceful beings desiring a little bit of adventure but even more peace in the end. It's great!

I live in Los Angeles now. I obviously never hear the quintessential Minnesota accent out here.
But it's the sound of where I grew up. It's just part of the atmosphere. Seeing these videos of places I know, with the sounds that I forget are embedded in me, hurts much deeper than normal.

Do we have books or other materials like this in the US For parents who want to be able to teach this to their kids?
I remember in high school I was lucky that we had a couple units on recognizing bias in reading the news or literature, but nothing for little kids.

I know the Fruit of the Loom mandela effect thing is old news, but it really is crazy that I specifically remember learning what a cornucopia was because of that logo and yet it apparently just never existed. What a mind fuck!

It's too bad that the only marble sculptures we see are perfect renditions of the ideal human form but we never get to see the ones where the artist was still learning and they forgot to change where they were sitting while carving so the eyes look all warped and fucked up
