This is probably where I part the most from liberalism as a philosophy, which broadly says people should be free to do what they want, even if they're harming themselves. Gambling is a massive net negative for the entire country minus like a dozen people. Kill it. I guess I'm a conservative on this.
The vision they’re painting of the future, of basically the way sports betting has intruded on every sporting event, except for *everything*, is incredibly dark.

I think some democrats should probably say forthrightly that though Hegseth among others deserves impeachment and removal, the process is broken because the republican majority has forsaken their duties to the country, and pursuing it would risk misinforming the country that acquittal = innocence.
