Oops, I read the news and I'm full of disappointment and anger! Whoopsies! Here's something more hopeful from my garden. I gave them some pointers on crossing the southern borders on their journey. Burner phone, &c.

For students, AI teaching appears to be less transformative than it is demoralising. They say they feel “robbed of knowledge and enjoyment”.

People have accused my macro photos of being AI which is such a bummer. Like yeah man bugs and crabs are weird but they really do act like that. That’s why nature is cool. AI has ruined weird little guy photography.
The amount of people I see harassing real artists and even wildlife photographers with accusations of AI is genuinely disheartening, and sadly this is just the beginning

And the NDP, who agreed to have enough MPs abstain to allow this disaster of a budget to pass, have the nerve to claim they aren’t propping up the Liberals. I’m screaming & swearing SO MUCH at the TV right now. (For non-Canadians, note that the Liberals are a centre-right party, not left-wing.)
By 2 votes, we get austerity, pipelines, AI, attacks on labour, a dismantled (or entirely destroyed) Can Post, corporate handouts galore, a *massively* expanded military industrial complex, an emboldened RCMP, and a firm embrace of a capitalist system that is currently in its death throes.

This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

I've only just learned about this now, and while it explains so much about what I negotiate each day, I'm feeling deeply sad and somewhat shaken. Apparently we had this misguided curriculum in parts of Canada, too.

Perhaps I evaded it due to French immersion and an educator mum. (Article in 🧵)
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Wait… do the writers think that we think that the Daniel Craig bond and the Sean Connery bond are… the exact same person?
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."
