Ending the parliamentary year on another note of dysfunction - Loonie Politics
I’m not sure how much longer this minority parliament is going to be able to last if things carry on in the current manner.

I despair that @cdnpress.bsky.social is using its fact-checking resources to chase the absolute dumbest social media conspiracy nonsense.
Fact File: 'Fake snow' that doesn't melt when burned has scientific explanation
Several videos posted online last week showed people burning snow with a lighter and questioning why the snow turned black and didn't seem to melt. Some social media users claimed

This thread. Total indictment of the gong show that is our city council.
Everything else aside, a veteran politician wrote a whole op-ed about how the failures of city policies he identifies are the fault of the people who, unlike him, vote against those policies.
And here’s the kicker: Tierney’s vote, the mayor’s vote, and all the like-minded councillors always have the numbers. They win. Every time.
So if their approach is always the one implemented… how are things not improving, Tim? 17/

There is a "House of the People." It's called Parliament.
It does require people to make a fucking effort and organize politically if you want change.
I am beyond sick to death of this fetishism of "citizens assemblies" that will do nothing but launder accountability for terrible ideas.

Energy East wasn't blocked by Quebec. This is revisionist history. It never got that far.
It was abandoned because Keystone XL was back on the table, and the proponent couldn't fill both pipelines. #PnPCBC

This should be mortifyingly embarrassing, but nope. They have zero shame.

Conservatives have been denouncing Pathways as “burying air.”
If you’re against industrial pricing - or not in favour of strengthening it - you’re against Pathways. Note that, at last check, this included Pathways members.
The Conservatives amended their motion to add a bunch of things from the MOU they were accused of excluding.

But they still left out any reference to an industrial carbon price.

To which one might ask: Is that large CCUS project (Pathways) viable without a higher industrial carbon price?
