When I was on the perfcap stage for Miles Morales, I - BADLY - doodled stick figures of shots and moves and showed them to the animation directors and actors. They laughed, and then we shot it. Some of my best memories on that project.

So yeah this answer doesn’t work for me.
Anyone who supports this is an embarrassment. "Instead of typing it out they'll generate their idea"? Are you insane?

Call yourself whatever you want but you aren't creatives, that's for sure.

All the proof you need of this is how they're continuing to obfuscate things around Epstein. The "client base" are still there, they're still getting away with it, and where there's demand there *will* be supply, especially given the people we're talking about, whose power is based on money.
The system that created Epstein, protected him, and let him thrive for decades, still exists. His market of powerful monsters still exists, and they're still being protected.

There is definitely, right now, someone serving the same role he did, being protected the same way by the same people.

Only met two doctors ever who weren't just massive arseholes about my autism diagnosis every time even when seeing them about an ingrown nail or fungal infection or something, so they'd definitely say something offensive about us being trans.

But for easy access to NHS funded care? I'd tolerate it.
they'd probably say some other obviously horrible shit...

But at least it wouldn't leave you thinking "damn, I shouldn't trust this asshole anywhere near my body if they can't do basic things like a blood test for my hormone levels and kidney function."

This thread by a former NYT editor documents how the NYT came to push the Cass Review so hard over other reviews. It was dictated from the top by editors. They sidelined their own London reporter to put Azeen Ghorayshi on it.
How the nyt used the Cass report to restart its anti-trans propaganda campaign in the US:
Coverage of the report was initially assigned to a nyt UK correspondent, usual practice for a UK report. The story being prepared cited critics who called Cass a shoddy, political document that defied science
One reason the NYT has burned its credibility with trans people is that they still cite the discredited Cass report in reporting on trans healthcare. Never the German, Utah, or other systematic reviews supporting care. They also never provide the political context behind restrictions in care.

It is eugenics. period. Impeach this mass murderer @housedemocrats.bsky.social
Since his appointment, RFK Jr. has pursued a brutal vision of American health that several experts liken to a sort of eugenics. Kennedy has made it clear that certain deaths are acceptable or even preferable to a world where every child is vaccinated.

I notice a lot of "moderate AI fans" scolding the public for mixing up AI terms, using "generative" or "ML" or "LLM" incorrectly or too broadly with the implication it's their fault for being dumb and irrational. When most of the confusion is an intentional strategy by the companies marketing it
Part of the issue is the very term AI has been widened out broadly and infinitely so now we're playing this language crapshoot, during which people can either be mistaken, use the wrong term, not fully understand the term they're using, or just lie. It's a fucking mess.
ngl, outside of the clip that got popularised by Gene Park, the next paragraph sounds like it's a more algorithmic asset placement tool (referencing trees, paths etc) than genAI

this is a good reminder of how things that are shitty but have been accepted as normal and inevitable can actually turn out to be abnormal and evitable with some science, time, education and political will

I really do not care if the guy who has raped kids is from my political party. My moral philosophy is that you don't rape kids, and there is nothing you can do that earns you a get-out-of-raping-kids-free card.

We are not required to follow the same standards as a court of law in the court of public opinion. Americans deserve to know which men are close friends with a sex trafficker so that people can make informed decisions about who they let their children hang around. Most of those men are alive

It is hilarious that people managed to confidently say “there is no point in objecting to this” in the few hours between when the initial rules were announced and when they were taken back because people didn’t sit there limply insisting there was nothing to be done. Looks good on you, goobers.
And just like that, SFWA capitulates. Keep fighting. It works.

The whole “don’t come to the hospital unless it’s a dire emergency” is exactly what happened in Chicago in 2020 and it was awful, esp for those of us who needed care. This should not keep happening. We have the technologies we need to prevent this and we aren’t using them. (Masks & air filtration.)

People often ask indexers ‘Why hasn’t AI replaced you yet?’, but the truth is that LLMs don’t threaten indexing. The threat imo comes from OA and ‘digital first’ publication, where publishers think a book doesn’t need an index since people can just download and digitally search it
