Reactionary centrists are getting everything they wanted out of the UK's Labour party, a purge of trans people from society, a crackdown on immigration, austerity measures on social safety net programs. It's only made Reform more popular and decimated Labour's support.

The answer, hard as it may be, is to grow up enough to not get mad about the idea of someone 'abusing the system' to get mild accommodations that won't even especially benefit them. It's a non-issue and making life harder for even a single disabled person to avoid it is obscene.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

Trans-exclusionary and “gender critical” takes are extremely prevalent in the British media. So I wrote this with the assumption that many readers might not realise that such views are seen as fringe and extreme by the vast majority of feminists outside the UK (and by many within the UK too).

Arming and organising a bunch of people and giving them the right to deploy force in civil spaces is not an effective remedy to the vast majority of the things we consider to be "crime" and the application to this kind of thing is at best a backwards attempt to justify the police's continuation.
