I mean there is no Season 3 and they haven't announced a Checkmate show.

So a huge plot thread is left hanging until Man of Tomorrow and other DCEU properties. Which... I think sucks.

I'm tired, man. I'm tired of shared universes. I'm tired of interconnected bullshit that means I have to watch everything just to get a resolution to a story I enjoy. To feel like I'm not missing out.

Listen, I think the scene in the motel IS the true climax of the season, and I'm glad it happened. I loved it.

But a huge, integral plot thread is unresolved. One that also completely uproots the central character in the show's final moments, now to be addressed ELSEWHERE.

THAT'S BAD STORYTELLING.

Cool, but they still introduced a ton of concepts, characters, and conflicts that will not be resolved. An entire story thread has not only been left unresolved, but our main character was put in a terrible spot, as a cliffhanger to be resolved in...

... NOT Peacemaker.

It doesn't matter if it does happen, because it's already confirmed that the overall larger plotline that was established and developed in this season WON'T BE RESOLVED IN SEASON 3 OF PEACEMAKER.

It'll be resolved in *other* DCEU properties, and that's a problem.

I'm sorry, but the overall story still matters to me.

All that other stuff matters too, and I like where they go with it all, but that doesn't suddenly absolve them of the other major plot threads they built up all season.

Unless your next words are "Peacemaker Season 3" – and I know they're not because THAT'S NOT HAPPENING – then just stop.

This did not feel like a narratively satisfying ending. It felt like a setup for other DCEU properties. And I'm sick of that shit.

Because it's the series finale but barely resolves the larger plot.

Everything with Argus, Rick Flag, the multiverse. The cliffhanger with Peacemaker.

The episode feels like the penultimate, NOT the climax.

There are also times where an actor/multiple actors are given vague directions and essentially told "go wild."

Which sometimes ends in gold, but a lot of the time is just... painful.

Yeah, that's the story a majority of the time.

There *are* some exceptions where an actor will improv on the fly and the other actors just react accordingly and the crew keeps filming, and they use that take. But those aren't the norm.
