I wrote my upcoming verse novel Hekate inspired by ancient Greek poet and playwright Euripides’ structure. I loved writing this book and was bereft when I finished it. It’s one of those stories that lingers - an intimating goddess of necromancy telling us her origins.

It’s been so destructive for the internet experience in general that we absolutely cannot trust any video we see anymore. That’s all that AI has achieved. A terrible user experience that no one asked for.

Hekate is an outlier of a book. It is entirely written in free verse but it tells a cohesive narrative story - a story about a child asylum seeker who becomes one of the most powerful goddesses in the Greek pantheon. This book has reached readers because booksellers and librarians have ensured it.

My verse novel Hekate has spent 3 weeks on the NYT bestseller list, but also it has been #1 and #2 on the Indie bestseller list because Indie bookstores and booksellers have championed the book so much. Words cannot express how much that means to me.
