I wrote my upcoming verse novel Hekate inspired by ancient Greek poet and playwright Euripides’ structure. I loved writing this book and was bereft when I finished it. It’s one of those stories that lingers - an intimating goddess of necromancy telling us her origins.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

It is very weird seeing my friends and family slowly start to realize we're not overreacting.
Read every word & share with everyone you know. This is real life here in Chicago. Americans need to know this grotesque reality & stand with us.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Establishment Democrats have always been collaborators. This is all on purpose, it is not an act of cowardice, it is an act of the same collaboration they’ve always done with this fascist party.

Not to add to the “is having a boyfriend embarrassing” discourse, but there are other reasons for women keeping their male partners off their feeds. Years ago, I made the mistake of sharing a poem I wrote for my fiancé and tagging him. The result was people harassing him, an introverted reserved guy

Hard to imagine a dumber and more sexist impulse than to deny the existence of the patriarchy.

The comments of this post are full of men complaining that women are just as bad as men and naming women who are conservative and hate other women by the way. All whilst ignoring that the people in charge of most countries and companies are cis het men.
Not a day passes without me wondering: how much better would the world be if men just got out of the way?
Would love for women to ruin billionaires next.

With due respect to Rilke for the second to last line, I wrote this after going for a walk in the forest whilst in the throes of despair.

When I was a kid, my dad pulled me aside and told me that the people I need to be kindest to are the poorest because this capitalist world we live in forgives you anything but it shames you deeply and never forgives you for being poor. It made me realise how deeply fucked up the world is very early.

The minimum wage freeze defenders got so mad at this video that it led to the most unoriginal misogyny and racism for two days. Anyway, I stand by what I said.

Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

you probably shouldn't let what commentators like Ezra Klein say be the limit of your imagination or determine what you think is politically possible. He doesn't have a clue what is possible.

Actually cackled out loud on a train when I read about THE Lina Khan power move. That distant scream you’re hearing is every CEO in NYC losing their entire minds.

Yes and yet several European countries are embracing a far-right worldview that would burn these policies to the ground, so let’s be not be smug or complacent here - particularly as Mamdani‘s pro-immigration stance is radical by European standards.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’ -- Critics of New York City’s mayor-elect have said his pledges of free bus service and universal childcare are unrealistic, but in Europe it’s a given www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Men really make me so angry on public transport because why would you take the seat next to a heavily pregnant woman making her move LOADS of stuff when you can comfortably sit next to a man two seats ahead.
