Hello new followers! I'm your auntie who likes to remind you that you are enough.

I swear, I knit, I read and write romance and read almost anything, I am chronically ill. I post about anything and everything and fangirl over BTS and many other kpop groups. Kindness matters. Remember that.

I want to get a new battery installed in my iPad Pro. Technically I don't NEED to as I could just have it plugged in all day and I write on the laptop, but I like to have options and the power does go out.

Guess I'm calling around to see how much and how fast this can happen.

The entire Beyond series by Kit Rocha.
omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

As parents are helping their kids consider colleges, this is my perennial reminder that state schools often have lower price tags, yes, but private schools, including many small liberal arts schools, often have better aid packages, and are thus often cheaper in the end (but may be more competitive).

Question!

Has anyone studied the impacts of subsequent vaccination on post-covid recovery and long covid?

I think someone needs to... because one of my friends' doctors doesnt't want her to get more boosters since she's *still* dealing with the effects of her covid infection 1.5 years ago. 🤯

I feel like all the tech macros who are building genAI are doing so because they have no one in their lives they can talk to about anything. Their ai tools are the imaginary friends of the tech to world.

Therapy would be cheaper.

There is something to this. My best writing is when I'm struggling to actually communicate what's in my brain and feeling like shit about it all because the words are so hard.
One of the many reasons AI can't produce good writing is it can't hate its own writing. It can't think to itself "Maybe I'm illiterate" during the writing process. And that's essential

Another one of my planning vids! This was filmed when I was richer and more optimistic back in the spring & purchased a new folio from Cloth & Paper for my work planner...

It's not the most riveting viewing, but perhaps a break from doomscrolling? Thanks in advance! www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNjV...

It's snowing. A lot. And Gauge does not live the snow. He is a southern gentleman after all. So we go out for about 2 minutes multiple times in a row so he can pee and poop. Which is not fun for either of us.

Friends, I am spent. And I still need to deal with dishes and clean counters and shower.

This is incredible! Texas is a voter suppressed state and the people are fighting back and this is so very good.
Texas Democrats just did something historic under the leadership of new state party chair @kendallscudder.bsky.social. We have filed a candidate in EVERY 2026 race.

U.S. Senate: 1 of 1
U.S. House: 38 of 38
State Senate: 15 of 15
State House: 150 of 150
State Board of Education: 8 of 8
We Did It, Texas Dems, We Did It
Candidates in every legislative, statewide, and federal race. Now it’s time to build power where it counts.

When writing sex in your stories, do you prefer to write the build up, the act itself, the aftercare, or all of the above?

Do you know go precious you are? The old gods see your heart and are awed by you resilience and compassion. The four winds sing of the magic that runs deep through your veins. And the night wraps you in its silence. You are a precious gift and I am so fucking proud of you.

1/ Canada's housing crisis isn't about immigrants, it's about treating homes as investment assets. In 2023, we added 5.1 people per housing unit built (vs. 1.9 historically). Meanwhile, 56% of Toronto condos are investor-owned. The math doesn't add up to blame newcomers.

I know I’ve already asked for a lot today with my housing update, but when I’m spiraling about the future the best way to calm myself down is to plan ahead. If anyone would be willing to invest a little in my 2026 planning via my wishlist, I’d be grateful. www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

My cousin sent me a box of tank tops that no longer fit her and my summer wardrobe is almost complete. She also sent me 2 coffee crisp bars and friends, I am eating one slowly and crying because I miss so many things from my life in Canada and this tastes like home.

Also, the fact that Labour thought an "obesity tsar," rather than, say, a "living-wage" tsar," or a "proper healthcare" tsar, or a "disability access" tsar, or a "full housing" tsar shows their Thatcherite spirits behind the masks.

Disgraceful.

The fact that they can't distinguish between "wanted" and "needed" is pretty much the problem.

Being wanted just means someone values you for your presence and who you are, but it requires being someone whose presence can add value.

Being needed gives you power over the other person.
My essay does, however, dismiss this “message” because it’s hogwash. Nobody is telling men they are unwanted at home—quite the opposite—but reifying this “message” does make it easier to vilify single moms (and stereotypical nagging wives).
