Probably working on monthly housing fundraiser update tomorrow. I’ve been putting it off because I’m kinda overwhelmed with what to say and last month’s updates didn’t do that well because it was too sad.

I was gentrified out of my hometown and I watched each of my neighbors get displaced before me. Not a single one of their homes was bought by an immigrant. Only one was bought by a person of color at all.

I’m not a Seasonally Depressed Person because of the weather. I am a Seasonally Depressed Person because of how expensive winter is. I actually love the cold, but I’m so stressed and scared about bills and unplanned expenses every single day from November to February.

I don't know how to teach students who hate reading/writing, when reading/writing are the foundations of what I'm supposed to teach. Yes, I engage with audio technologies, digital narratives, cinema, material culture...but it's all forms of reading. I just don't know what they want out of this.

Back in the day, I once sent a copy of my book to a famous Twitter mutual (there had been some communication - it wasn't unsolicited!) and they posted a gushing thread about me that resulted in me gaining - no exaggeration - about 14,000 new followers in under 24 hours.
Sometimes I see a very famous person plug a book or movie or other creative project that they're not involved in or benefiting from and I am SHOCKED in a good way. More of that would be... good. Bizarre how rare it is.

Still seeking! They’re on sale for Black Friday on the brand website, but it’s still too high for me. However, if you’re shopping for yourself, now would be the time to buy. They rarely go on sale and the resale market is about the same for a used device.

Still seeking a used and/or forgotten Freewrite Traveler if any fellow writers would be willing to rehome theirs! I can’t afford the $380+ they go for on resale or the current Amazon discount, but I could really use a long-battery drafting device in my current camper set up.
