I also am confused because they cut to Duchovny for his response which implies it was a separate shot.

So it wasn’t the immediate response unless they were filming both dudes at the same time which I believe isn’t normal.

A lot of the actors they’re working with on that show are hired *because* of their ability to sound natural and conversational.

It’s weird how the “sexyback plays every time a character appears onscreen” meme goes away and comes back in greater numbers every few years.

Weirder for me to be the guy that did it first because my video wasn’t making me laugh until I added the music whenever Duke Devlin appeared.

The Indiana Jones scene where he shoots the guy with the sword is improvised, but Harrison Ford obviously didn’t just pull out a fake gun and shoot at a guy.

They had to improvise because Harrison Ford had dysentery.

Elaborate improvisation with everyone’s knowledge is still improvisation.

A reminder that when an actor says they “improvised” a moment in media, it usually means they suggested something and the crew figured out how to make it work

It doesn’t mean they just randomly started doing things and everyone stayed in character and kept filming everything as if it was normal
