Can't remember if I shared this here, but here's the first 2 minutes of Stranger & The Strange, my weird west animated short I'm working on in my off hours.

Sometimes I see an aesthetic blog post someone's photography and it says "source: pinterest"

And like

You've said essentially nothing with that

I think many upper middle class people genuinely believe that what's best for them is best for everyone.

Not logically, but idealogically.

Because if that's not true, that means their comforts come at the expense of their fellow Americans.

And that idea is very uncomfortable.

It's honestly kinda wild that there still isn't an inverse Indiana Jones.

Someone who steals from museums to return cultural artifacts to their original owners.

He ended and/or harmed women's careers in comedy due to what he did. He used his power in the comedy industry to inflict that harm.

Just because other people are worse doesn't mean we should just be cool with him continuing to exist in the exact position he used to take advantage of people.

Always remember: there is NO excuse not to observe safety. All it takes is one mistake.

And if you're an actor and think you need to make it more "real" to give a performance? Try being good at acting instead.

We're just people playing make believe really good. So use your goddamn imagination.

By the way whenever I talk about my opinions on filmmaking and stuff, always keep in mind this is from a VERY limited perspective.

I've never worked on a "proper" production in my life. Everything I do is self-taught and every production I've ever run has had 3 dedicated crew members at most.

I feel like many expensive productions look cheaper not because nobody cares or because they aren't trying hard enough. Of course they care, and so many talented people work on these shows.

I think it looks "cheap" BECAUSE everything is trying to look perfect.

God I want to see what a Disney traditional animation team could do with modern technology.

There's still so much untapped potential in hybrid 2D/3D workflows.

Unfortunately for you, they are still playing oldies music.

A *huge* vaccine victory. I've been writing on this for years; Australia has seen remarkable progress in cervical cancer prevention with the HPV vaccine. I love seeing science triumph like this.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

To all the trans elders and late transitioners:

I thank you deeply for the visibility that made me feel less alone.

Knowing that others successfully navigated starting their transition in their middle or later years made my path feel supported & achievable.

Your presence made all the difference.💜

"Wake Up Dead Man" is very good.

Personally I like it better than Glass Onion, which was also very good.

I feel like when we talk about "authentic casting" people tend to be very literal, but Wicked is a great example of how you can use authentic casting in a very non-literal way to really add to a character.

The film casting a queer black woman to play Elphaba truly added so much to the character.

For all of YouTube's problems, they let us choose what kind of ads show up on our videos. That should be the standard.

In addition to issues like this, it's nice to know we can choose not to promote addictive gambling games and shit even if it means we make less money.
Worth a shot I guess 😓

If you could vote on this, I'd really appreciate it 👉👈

It's really funny to me that guys who idealize the Spartans and Vikings don't even engage with the reality of what they were, just the version they've seen in media.

Both cultures were far more multi-faceted than their popular depictions.
