I would have thouht dark academia is my thing but it's all weirdly pretenious and usually teacher student relationships and I the only thing i've remotely liked has been Naomi Novik's Schoolmance series and that's YA.

Got the first wave of Barnes and Nobel sale books in along with a couple preorders. Even though I ordered them all the same day, I’m not seeing the other half show up til Saturday at the earliest it seems, but I’ll be away for a week and it’ll be up to my house sitter to get my boxes.

The way they’ve been forced to narrow seasons down to 8 or so episodes means less time is given for writers to just come up with completely random, creative stories. I don’t give a damn about who nurse chapel is screwing for the majority of the season.

I’m seriously missing episodic Star Trek. This last season of strange new worlds was all “Spock’s love life” and then bam, we have magical demonic good vs evil stuff, neither of which is what I want out of Star Trek. I also don’t hold DS9 as best trek. I watch trek for the episodic sci-fi stories.
