Well...you'll be happy to find out that DC was crazy enough to give us LOBO--coming at you in 2026. Should be a wild ride.
Which is great for us readers as I know it's a highly likely that whatever that team comes up with I'll be in for! You, Skottie, Jorge and JFB keep crushing it!

Lovely day. I'm wading through the dumpster fire that is my inbox. The day back after a long weekend is usually not pretty. Can I actually accomplish everything that needs my attention today? Stay tuned, True Believers!

Agreed -- when you see that happen, it's usually because the creative team actually gets along really well on a personal level and WANTS to work together again and again. They mesh really well, and elevate each other's work. Its a great feeling, lemme tell ya.
Something that I enjoy seeing (and I feel it happens more on Image/indies) is that the whole team moves together project to project or group to group. I think the best results come when a creative team comes together over time.

Comics writers and artists — please request your favorite colorists and letterers when working on a new project with a publisher. Can’t hurt to ask. (And if you don’t really care who letters/colors your work…that’s disappointing on a lot of levels.)

Cat beds on both sides of him—would rather sleep awkwardly on the scratch toy.

That's a wrap for me in the studio. I'm taking a break from Thursday to Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hope you have a great turkey day if you celebrate. Don't forget, Blambot's biggest sale of the year starts on Cyber Monday, Dec. 1st! 25% off! Catch you on the flip side.

Yeah, I like the Copic Multiliners in various weights/styles. (Pardon my work gloves—keeps my hands warm and cuts down on friction.)

I like to do quick mock-ups of ideas for guitar builds--here's the idea that I'm actually finding parts for right now. I find black and gold classy as fuck.

This morning's warm-up "sketch". I was looking through some newspapers from the early 1900s, and found these wonderful little hand drawn maps of California. I broke out some disposable tech pens and tried to capture the feeling of the lettering. Those upturned "e"s intrigued me. Is this a keeper?

Thanks! I think most people don't care about my guitar obsession. They just put up with it for the font/comics updates. (However, I am working on a custom build right now. A black American Strat w/ gold hardware, a roasted neck, and hand-made Fralin pickups with a zebra humbucker in the bridge.)
Congrats on your downtime! Which guitar will you be disassembling, cleaning and reassembling this year, Mr P? Do a video for the youtube likes :)

Freelance comics work before a holiday is always really unpredictable. It's either a 4-alarm fire and batshit crazy, or it's dead quiet and nothing's really coming in to be worked on. And you never really know until a few days before. Looks like pre-turkey day = dead quiet this year.

The best picture I took all night at the the Tom Morello show on Saturday; during the Chris Cornell tribute where Tom played Like a Stone on a darkened stage with just a spotlight on an empty mic stand. Decided to print and frame this one.

Today has been one of those days in the studio when the universe has conspired to prevent me from getting anything done. In 5 hours, I've only dressed 2 covers and did a round of correx on a Dark Horse book. Too many phone calls, emails and work being done outside that I had to keep an eye on. SIGH.

Front row and meet & greet with Tom Morello last night. I worked on his Dark Horse Comics series, ORCHID, back in 2011/12 and it was nice to chat again after so long.

My indecisiveness with Project Gray Ghost continues...Because the bold version was based on a small filbert brush, I started going down a rabbit hole of vintage hand-painted sign lettering, and wondered if the regular version might look good in a thinner wedge brush style. Hmm.

The light from our sun takes 8 min. and 20 seconds to reach earth. So if the sun hypothetically disappeared, we'd see daylight for an additional 8 min. and 20 seconds before...lights out. End of civilization. Earth and all the orbiting planets would drift off into space. Forever dark. HAPPY FRIDAY!

New guitar pedal day! I have an unhealthy addiction to 60s/70s fuzz, so I can’t wait to try out the Mythos Argo Octave Fuzz!
