I'm Marin M. Miller, a voice actor, writer, and vocal technique specialist that been working in anime and games since my first booking in 2006! Here are a few of my most well-known titles--do you know them all?

That scream at the end, though....
When your priority is racing to the bottom in terms of budget and turnaround, this is what you will be left with.

Why would I bother to compete with this as an artist? If this is all corporations are willing to invest in, and they want to use my work to train+create more, why work with corps?
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

I have lost so much this year. So much. I can't keep surviving if my clients are so content to cut my pay, turnarounds, and to revoke my work without warning.

To say nothing of the fact that adapters are expected to drop everything to be available for work that can be revoked at any moment. There are no employment protections, no stability, and the pay is now equivalent to a week of working at the Post Office. I know, because I accepted a job there.

If pay and turnarounds are continually cut during record inflation years, you are not only fracturing that backbone, you are stomping on it and demanding that it toughen up. You will continue to find yourself lacking in quality talent because you have chased it off.

Dubbing will continue to stagnate until serious time and consideration is given to the pattern of severe undercutting that is prevalent in the industry. Budgets are getting slashed on workers who were already expected to cut corners with low pay. Adapters and translators are your backbone.

Fans have waited 7 years for a dub of this. They deserved better.
Hey just so you know Amazon decided to give us an AI ENGLISH DUB of Banana Fish instead of actually hiring real voice actors
it is fucking hot garbage

Reminder to add TOKYO GODFATHERS to your Christmas movie watchlist this season! Grateful to have given (English, dubbed) voice to the trans anime icon, our beloved Hana, in this Satoshi Kon holiday classic from @gkids.com! Watch it for free on Tubi or rent it on AppleTV!

And folks this is why even if you choose not to be in a union--for whatever reason--you still owe your co-workers solidarity. The discussions were, seemingly, bcomparing salaries and talking about a company policy change to their slack server. Someone went to management and got 34 people fired.
PMG understands Rockstar became aware of these messages after at least one non-union member of the server raised concerns about these discussions with management and this either kicked off, or contributed to, a wider investigation.

EXCLUSIVE: So far it's been unclear what proof Rockstar Games has to justify its firing of 34 union members, who it claims were leaking "confidential information in a public forum".

PMG has now seen some of the messages which contributed to this decision being made.

It wasn't until I removed gender that I understood where I fit as an actor.

It wasn't until I suffered through the strike that I understood exactly what perspective I have to offer as an actor that others don't.

I am resilient. Life is changing. I will continue to learn and grow, even if it hurts.

I hope one day, I get to step into a character that lets me explore rage.

Feminine identities aren't often allowed that--it's usually discouraged. And most of my work has been variations of cold neutrality, or angst. I want a writer to ALLOW me to be angry. To challenge me to face and embrace it.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.
