I feel this way about pretty much all vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. You shouldn't be allowed to dump cyanide into municipal drinking water and you shouldn't be allowed to recreationally spread viruses around shared public spaces.
My most authoritarian opinion is that the MMR vaccine should be mandatory, with only medical (not religious or floofy) exemptions allowed. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

how bad do you have to fuck up to allow an exploit in fucking NOTEPAD
The AI features added to Notepad created a critical exploit vulnerable to loading a compromised txt file.

The fix is part of Patch Tuesday, so update your systems.

AI is not a feature I ever desired in Notepad. I should look into some alternatives...
AI-upgraded Notepad now exposes Windows users to critical exploit
A critical remote code execution vulnerability found in the AI-upgraded Windows 11 Notepad has fueled renewed criticism of Microsoft's forced AI feature creep.

Whether you’re the Attorney General of the United States or not, I just don’t think you should be able to say “why do you care about investigating and prosecuting pedophiles when the stock market volume is so high?!” without a bolt of lightning coming down and incinerating you instantly.

honestly a little embarrassed I let the pitch get as far as it did, but I’m fine with that if this helps any other tiny pubs avoid getting scammed.
Aided by genAI models like ChatGPT, “writers” hoping to get paid for fake stories have become an even bigger problem for publications big and small. One such writer almost pulled one over on COYOTE — until @soleilho.com, who is a nerd, spotted a key idiosyncrasy.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

When I saw a few mainstream news articles say it “wasn’t political,” I about did a spit-take. Huh? Is that ignorance? Do they only see “politics” when it slots into the storylines their pundits are on deck to blather about? HOW? (Answer: this happens when you fire all your black and brown writers.)
Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”

This is why we need to be telling our stories.

The NYT fired everyone who knew that sugar cane is kinda important to Puerto Rico.

They're dumber than dogshit over there. This is so fucking embarrassing.
At the start of his Super Bowl performance, Bad Bunny appeared in a field of green grass wearing a jersey featuring the number “64.” Fans immediately started tossing out theories about what the number meant.
What Was the ‘Ocasio 64’ Reference on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Look?
And where did his suit come from? The answers may surprise.

San Francisco's "March for Billionaires" was today.

It was, numbers-wise, a bit of a dud. But not a dull affair: a "We ❤️ you Jeffrey Bezos" sign, at least one polycule, & a participant arguing to "remove" journalists "as a class...just like Germany."

San Francisco’s billionaire bacchanal a big bust
Only a handful of pro-billionaire agitators actually showed for an apparently earnest “March for Billionaires” at Alta Plaza Park.
