Yooooooooooooooooo.

Gonna do a book.
yes this for sure
I think the thing that will prevent a restoration of “normalcy” even when/if Trump & MAGA are in the rearview mirror is literally how many of our key institutions *treat* this era as normal.

Media, markets and yes, much of the opposition party are just not reacting like this is a fascist takeover.

The Nobel thing reminds of one of those origin stories for an impossibly stupid but disproportionately damaging Batman villain who only shows up in one issue in the '70s.

Got to go in the backroom of the post office to drop eight tubs of zines, so today was a good day.

One of the first things anyone learns about facial recognition is that it is often wrong and that it is biased. And yet ICE is using it all day every day to determine legal status & who to detain. And now we have a high-profile example of it being flat out wrong:

ICE’s Facial Recognition App Misidentified a Woman. Twice
In testimony from a CBP official obtained by 404 Media, the official described how Mobile Fortify returned two different names after scanning a woman's face during an immigration raid. ICE has said th...

Saint Paul Public Schools, one of the biggest school districts in the state, is closed for the next two days because teachers need time to build hybrid learning because unaccountable masked, armed federal government goons have made it too difficult for nonwhite children to leave their homes.

One of the best ways I know to sort Gen Xers/old Millennials into levels of trustworthiness is to take note of which beloved 80s/90s comic strip they never shut up about. Calvin & Hobbes? That's a good-hearted normie. Far Side? Probably annoying, plays hours of RPGs. Bloom County? Fully radicalized.

Running 100 cute rainbow whistles heading to Maine. Fuck ICE.
January 19, 2026 at 4:19 AM
100% this.
i was talking with someone in the twin cities about how it’s not even accurate to call them protesters. they’re literally just people protecting their city from TERRORISTS.
Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

I love a city that always does the impossible. Doesn't always win, always tries.

Spent basically the entire weekend signing, numbering and packing a remarkable number of zines. Ended up with EIGHT mail tubs full. Kinda blown away and definitely very tired.

A Saturday morning spent printing whistles and signing/numbering zines is a pretty good Saturday morning.

DHS employees entered our store this afternoon and served us a Notice of Inspection, demanding copies of I9 forms for each employee.

In 27 years as shopkeepers, we have never been subjected to this type of investigation.

Everything in Minneapolis is following the same pattern as Chicago. At this rate, Gregory Bovino will be getting deposed and his lawyer will be upset that opposing counsel didn’t shake his hand in plus or minus four weeks

I'm working with these folks and it is incredible to watch the speed, enthusiasm, and comradery happening behind the scenes in what's a completely ad-hoc group of printer rogues.
We are quickly coming up on 50,000 whistles shipped so far in January, and I am just forever impressed by the passion of the folks who have joined forces with us!

A reminder that if you know anyone who needs whistles, they can email the address at the top of our linktree! linktr.ee/3Dwhistles

It's 27 degrees at 8pm in Minneapolis. How long are they standing out there waiting for water to freeze?
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin on "acts of violence" against ICE agents in Minnesota: "Pouring water on the ground so that it would freeze the ground in front of our federal law enforcement vehicles so that they would potentially slide, crash, and potentially kill them"
