I hate to tell them but from experience I’m betting all those windows are stuck in traffic between Waterbury and Danbury. #TCMParty

Cary Grant, locked in a closet of his own design a little while after refusing to answer a question about whether he’d prefer a kiss or a handshake from his best friend, probably wasn’t as on the nose in 1948. #TCMParty

The Rev. Col. has my vote, and I’m not just speaking as a Col. Rev.
My pitch to be mayor of Lou: citywide speed limit of 25, roundabouts at all major intersections, protected bike lanes on major throughways, pedestrianized zone around schools, and buses come every 20min and are tracked by GPS on a consumer app. Later we get the loop train we were promised in 2000.
Ahem. It’s a “war on cars.”

I always start Mr. Blandings when it’s on and I always forget how much it stressed me out. It was much funnier years ago from an apartment. #TCMParty

When 2 hosts in a row are in “the house” I get this feeling that one is still off camera. Like, Eddie is clearly making faces at Alicia while she tries to get this done. #TCMParty

How do we stand Jr. at some sort of rail hub and just aim all existing trolleys at him? Can we do that, please?

It really does have the vibe of “no one wanted motion smoothing; no one wanted the 48 fps Hobbit; what if we make it so you CANNOT opt out of this nasty-looking shit? Enjoy!”
I am *trying* to enjoy this Beatles thing that should be tailor-made for me but the A.I. elements are just disastrously off-putting. Displeasing to the eye and heart. Like motion smoothing left in the back window of the car to goo in the sun.

A thing we're launching at @salon.com is a weekly art-over-algorithm newsletter on culture and entertainment that isn't decoding the latest trends but rather looking closely at stuff that's (hopefully) built to last. It's called The Swell, it's free, and it starts next week. www.salon.com/newsletter

I have a once fond performance memory (tainted by things external to it) of knowing R&G Are Dead so well that I was, as G, able to course-correct R’s potentially fatal leap from act I to act III and bring us back where we belonged for a safe landing.

There is a direct correlation between how fake your job is and how much value you see in AI
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.
