No, I’m defending those who are about to experience real harm by defending the efforts to prevent the immediate harm from happening to them. What I see you doing is undermining those efforts. You’re way off topic, here. Real people are about to experience real harm that Republicans are inflicting. Democrats are trying to prevent it, while Republicans are trying to imperil or bankrupt families. Don’t let (presently unobtainable) perfection be the enemy of good.

I worry less about this attempt to consolidate an authoritarian regime succeeding in the end, even with as much damage as it's doing in the meantime. But if all these people walk free and still get a coin toss chance at winning elections, you're just inviting the next attempt to be more successful.

Trump: "I'm allowed as you know as president, like 50% of the presidents have used the Insurrection Act. Everybody agrees you're allowed to use that and there is no more court cases, there is no more anything. We're trying to do it in a nicer manner, but we can always use the Insurrection Act."
