Hey Canadian media ... "born as a biological male" is not the move when you're reporting on what happened in Tumbler Ridge.

Here's is the @transjournalists.org Style Guide if you are covering this story today

In all the fakeness being forced on us, the high levels of effort (human intention + direction if not actual creation) put into fakery is the most disheartening aspect.

+ it means established companies will continue to profit despite themselves, while legit new initiatives will fail in the mire.
The book club scam has taken an exciting new leap forward. I got one today from a "curated literary platform and newsletter" that, unusually, offered a link to its website. I'm in edits, so obviously I took the opportunity to procrastinate. /1

I think there’s a difference worth pointing out between a person you know changing their mind (welcome) & a pundit feeling the wind shift on their spit-slicked finger as they declare it’s now correct to call something fascist (fuck off into the sun).

One of them will never fight alongside you.

People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.

we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)

Hey, remember that period of time when the most distressing thing in the news was finding out that random objects were secretly cakes? Was it a dog? Nope. Cake. Was it a glass of wine? Nope, cake again. Anyways, that is the level of stress that I would be comfortable returning to. Thank you.

It probably took up about 50% of my time this return-to-school week. What have we done to ourselves? 🤦🏻‍♀️
Oh no the monster named EMAIL has returned to drain all my energy

Sitting a stewing in frustration isn't nearly as cathartic as just designing a poster. Let's see how often I remember that in 2026.

Absolutely counts
2025 has not been a good year, overall, for me. 2026 is likely to be worse as we continue to see a close member of our family get more ill.

It's hard to find joy sometimes but sometimes its just in the little things. And that counts.

I've lived in Ontario most of my life, with weather-report-obsessed parents, and I have never heard of a "Ontario Scary-o" 🤔

I call BS on that one

I know most people tune this stuff out but there are 4 different people who I know personally (who do not know each other) who are seriously ill and/or hospitalized right now due to COVID or Long COVID related issues. Protect your health. Protect your family. Mask up this holiday season.

Just an utter ignorant waste of skin in a suit who became Premier thanks to voter apathy (aka disillusionment with provincial politics)

Also, Bill 60 is a disgrace and DoFo's cronies' spinning of it as in any way useful to the public is infuriating.
I really try to make jokes and find fun ways to spin terrible news on here, but I read this and the only thing I have to say about it is that Doug Ford is a piece of shit who shouldn't be running an Arby's, let alone a province. Fuck you, Doug. share.google/gPPqvtiuqD0O...
Ford tells protesters to 'go find a job' as controversial housing bill passes at Queen's Park | CBC News
Shouts and chants rained down upon politicians at the Ontario legislature Monday as the government passed a housing bill that critics say makes it easier for landlords to evict tenants.

First holiday party of the season today.

People showed up in Christmas sweaters + novelty hats + I rolled up with a hair pin inspired by ancient Celtic-Norse knotwork, a recycled glass pendant inspired by eco-friendliness, & socks inspired by passive-aggressive introvert-ism.

I regret nothing
